Lucas Strunk of Pine Knot Intermediate School (McCreary County), was honored as the 2017 KAGE Distinguished Student. Strunk’sa service projects included, “Art for Everyone,” in which he collected new art supplies that were donated to local schools and then given to students who do not have art supplies at home.
The form must be completed and submitted before the April 1st, 2017 deadline.
These Students will advance to Governor's Cup Regionals.

Spring Break is currently scheduled for the week of April 10th - April 14th, 2017. In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen events that result in excessive school closures, April 10th, April 11th, and April 12th "may" be used as makeup days for the district.
For the second consecutive year, the McCreary County School District was identified as a proficient district. While the district is excited about the accomplishment, they quickly began to make plans to achieve distinguished status next school year

The McCreary County School District has a new School of Distinction in Pine Knot Primary School, and McCreary Central High School earned Distinguished marks according to the Kentucky Department of Education Unbridled Learning Accountability data released today.
