Once again, McCreary County School District will utilize NTI Day #4 for Tuesday, January 29, 2019.
- A strong cold front will pass through eastern Kentucky overnight. Much colder air will rush in behind the cold front, changing any precipitation over to snow late tonight through the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday.
- Snow will continue through at least part of the day Tuesday, tapering off from west to east as snow showers and eventually flurries by the end of the day.
- Generally between one half and 2 inches of snow will be possible across much of the area, with locally higher amounts in the highest terrain closer to and along the Kentucky-Virginia-West Virginia state line.
- Arctic air will continue to settle down across the region, even after the snow has ended. Combined with the winds, this will produce single digit wind chills for many locations by Tuesday morning.
