Winter Weather and The School Delay/Closure Communication Process

It's that time of year again! Winter weather seems to be making an early appearance this year and now is a good time to re-iterate how we communicate any school delay or closure information.

One Call Now is our primary means of informing parents, students, and community members of important information such as school closures, delays, or emergency-related information. For parents and guardians it is very important that your telephone contact information is up-to-date with the respective school where you have a student enrolled. If you have recently changed telephone numbers, please contact the student enrollment clerk at the school where your child is enrolled. Each night our Student Information System synchronizes telephone contact numbers with One Call Now to ensure that system contains the latest updated telephone contact information.

When there is weather-related school closures or delay we also contact the following TV stations: WATE, WVLT, WBIR, WTVQ, WKYT, Lex18, and Fox56 News. These stations add our district to the respective delay or closure scrolling lists.

This website and this our official district Facebook account are also updated as soon as possible when weather-related delays or closures are known. We also push notifications to a mobile app (Stay Connected) that displays district and school-related news, events, and notifications with the swipe of a finger. The Stay Connected app is FREE and available for both Apple iOS-based devices and Android-based devices. Please click on the links posted below to download the Stay Connected app for your particular mobile device:
