Two roads diverged in a wood and I - I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

Sometimes it's the path we are least likely to choose that leads us on our greatest adventure....
My name is Mrs. Benji Burchett and I am an English/Language Arts instructor at McCreary Central High School. This is my 7
th
year with MCHS, while my teaching career places me at an 16 year total ranging from Head Start through 12
th
grade. Education is an important part of my life both as a student and teacher. I attended Eastern Kentucky University where I earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in English and I earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching through the University of the Cumberalnds. I have been an active part of our school as a teacher and supporter. I believe in a strong work ethic and applying oneself to maximize each individuals potential. I hope to instill in all my students a sense of pride in their work, and in themselves. I hold each to a high standard as well as having high expectations for myself. I am a proud mother to two, wife of an amazing Chemistry teacher, an active school and club sponsor, and community member. I look forward to many successful years here at MCHS and hope to give back to a community that I call home.
