My name is Mr. Burchett and I am the Chemistry, College Chemistry, Physics and Criminalistics instructor at McCreary Central High School. This is my 8th year with MCHS, while my total teaching experience spans 26 years. Education is an important part of my life both as a student and teacher. I attended Eastern Kentucky University where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Physics and a Masters in Chemistry Education. I also earned numerous academic awards including the Darnell Salyer Most Outstanding Senior Chemistry Student for the class of 1994, EKU Presidential Scholarship, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I have been an active part of our school as a teacher and supporter. I believe in a strong work ethic and applying oneself to their individual potential. I have always strived not only to instill these values in my students but in myself as well. I welcome and encourage active parent involvement, as a child’s parent is the first and greatest educational influence. I am a husband, a father, a member of the community with long standing ancestral roots form the western portion of the county, and look forward to many successful years with MCHS.
